I need quick help with a DD script. The Simple Tree Menu is a great script but, FWIW, you guys at DD need to watch your JavaScript syntax--yikes this is ugly! But, hey, it does work!)

Anyway, I need some *smooth* animation for this script. I need the sub-menus to slide nice and smooth when expanding or contracting.

Don't just point me to someone else's script, I've seen them all (at least it feels like it). I need THIS ONE on DD to be animated smoothly and I need the full source code! The reason I need *this one* is that it's the ONLY one I've found that truly uses just <ul> list tags without the necessity for a plethora of JavaScript arrays, id or name tags.

If you give me a "clear and detailed newbie-usable explanation" of how and why your animation mod works I'll throw in another $50 for a total of $100! Payment via PayPal only.

I'd like to get this within the next week or so.

Please post your work on the forum and then email me. If it works and I like it, the best job/work will get paid and you'll help everyone else out all at the same time!! :)

First of all, this is probably against the "no advertising" rule on the forum. Second, what gurantee do we have that you will pay?. Third, how is the syntax ugly?

1) The whole forum is "advertising" for help. The only difference I'm offering to pay someone. But if you don't want the $$, just say so. ;) 2) None, but I'm an honest guy. FWIW, if you post the code for all to see then it helps all of us. 3) The bracketing and line-ending punctuation is missing all over the code; accurate indentation would also be helpful. :)

Tested in IE6,Opera 9 and FF 1.5.All three of those worked without a hitch so I'm guessing most(if not all) modern browsers will work. My only modifications are to the javascript. You can find my version here (http://www.webtech101.com/uploads/dd/tree/simpletreemenu.js). I'm not sure if this exactly what you wanted(you were rather vague) so, if not just tell me what you want changed.

Yes, this exactly what I needed. It's a bit buggy though when you first load the page and closing a folder will close 'instantly' but then it works okay on the subsequest open and closings. Very nice. Send me a private note with a PayPal address.

Also, I ran into an issue with the menu over expanding. I don't know if this is a CSS issue or something else. I'll try to post a sample link over the weekend. Also if you could include some documentation of this code, that will be cool too!

Sorry,small oversight in the code. All should be working correctly now. I have updated the JS file with comments on all my modifications(I also clearly marked them)

Can this menu be made to expand "upwards" instead of "downwards"?

In other words, I'd like to have the menu sitting on the bottom of a DIV in the right hand corner (height and width defined). When the menu items are clicked, they expand upwards into the space above.

I am using this simpletree menu. It is centered. How can I adjust it to left in a div?
One more question: Do you consider putting +/- signs on those folders contact/expanded?
