Link to part of page using HV Menu 5.5

I am trying to link to a specific area of a webpage using HV Menu.
I have tried putting the normal html code "pagename.htm#pagearea" into the link section of the menu tree put in only links to the top of the page not the specific area.

Is there another way to achieve this?
