View Full Version : PayPal IPN??

Is there a way to pass 'additional' information to PayPal? (for example, a 'username' or 'password' that the customer filled out before clicking the 'add to cart' button?)

I've heard of something called PayPal IPN.... would that do it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sure, but you really wouldn't need to pass on username or password, although you can can, along with lots of other stuff.

You can start with these links:

Also, the shopping cart at <a href="http://www.phpwebcommerce.com/">PHP Web Commerce</a> is based on PP's IPN. You really can't use this cart as it is though. There are a few bugs in it, but it's mostly fine-tuned and it's great if you like to have a hands-on example to learn from.

Good luck!

Just a note that HTML is disabled in this forum. (I noticed that you were using HTML)

checkout the following link. It has all the details with code samples in most of the server-side technologies.

Note: Please look at the left hand vertical menu for different section about it.
