I'm going to have the gospel of John on my site soon but I just found the following and I'd like to download it. Anyone know how?

The "Download" button in the sidebar would be a good starting point. :)

Morning Twey…

Thing is, that downloads the google player and not the actual video. Guess they don’t want us to download the videos.

Thanks man! :)

Huh? It links to an AVI.

Well I played around with it and I can't find the AVI link. Maybe you could show me how you found it.

They have other stuff that I would like to download so if you could show me how you found the AVI link it could preve helpful. Others also would like to know who to download something I shared on another forum.

1) Go to http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4542987275028427238&q=%22gospel+of+john%22
2) Click "download"
3) Save the resulting file ("BiblesOnDVDTheGospel.avi").

Twey, I believe that Google Video only points to an AVI on Linux(and maybe Mac) on windows it points to a file to download to Play in Google Video.

Jack,I have read somewhere that if you open the file that you downloaded in Notepad it contains the address of the file you really want.

Your right... I'm using WinXP and all I get is the google video player.
Tried several things but nothing gives me the URL to the .avi

Oh well... Maybe I'll firure something out later.

Thanks everyone! :)

Twey was the one who told us that. Thing is, it doesn’t work with this particular file. It works with most .ram but not with this one. At least not if you’re using WinXp.

Cool thing though, Google gives you an embeded text that you can add to your site. Like people on MySpace use. Nice because I was able to place the whole movie “The Gospel of John” without having to host it. Pretty sweet huh!

Oh yea, Twey also gave me the link to the .rm but for some reason it didn’t work. I was able to download the file but it’s as if you need a Mac in order for it to work. No big deal… I can just add that embeded text to a page and voila – I’ve got whatever I want. :p

No. It works. I did it.
Find the url, and, yes, there are some variables attached to the end of it... it doesn't end cleanly in .avi or something, but if you copy/paste that url into your browser, you'll find the video.
