Bookmarking in NS

I'm very new to scripting and have heard that it is not possible to write a script to add a new bookmark within NS. Even the one that is listed on this site only adds to the URL to the sidebar, where is a bit tricky to get it back into the main window.

Is a true bookmarking script for NS really impossible?
