for some reason www is needed

To go to our school website you have to type in www or you will get a error.
Does anyone know why?

you have to typoe in www.domian.com and not domian.com

This has to do with your server's DNS set up. You need to set up "domain.com" as an alias (A record) to "www.dynamicdrive.com". I'm used to doing this in cPanel, so the exact procedure will differ depending on your OS and control panel, if any.
