Not sure where to post this as its just asking for advice....

I currently have a simple website for my football team (just 1 page with all the relevant info- fixtures/results/stats etc) that i update during the season.

All of the relevant details as mentioned above are currenlty held within an MS Excel file that I have been updating for the past 5 seasons.

My question is - what is the best way that i can incorporate the two? I dont really mind the manual updating of both but feel that there must be a much better way to do things.

I am going to be designing a new website from scratch anyway so thought i would see if anyone has any ideas....dont mind what or how difficult??!!!

Thanks

Hello,

I am new at web design and the available software and database options for a website. I am currently learning about the Joomla Content Manager application and would suggest it as an option for your team. It would allow your team members to log in to the site and post news and announcements (you would be the administrator and can approve members).

The process was a bit complex for me however there are a lot of resources with step by step information and a forum for interacting with people who have a great deal more experience working with the possibilities.

For information go to http://www.joomla.org

During the process I took finding and making the decision to use this program, I found the forum to be a great resource for information and sample sites. The forum is at http://www.joomla.org/index.php

Our website is under construction. Our shopping page is basic at present but is being created for an early October launch using a content manager that will greatly improve the site.
