Hi there, I'm sure you guys can help me out with this. The webpage I'm designing has a background image that is stationary, the problem is the text. The colors that would match the entire theme are to dark, making it hard to read in areas where the text and background image overlap. Using a brighter color doesn't match the theme, so that's a no go.

Is there a code of some sort that when text and background image overlap it takes those area of text and inverts them? Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately not, no. If you provide the site, perhaps one of us can find you an appropriate contrasting colour?

Find a median between the two colors, and that should help.

Thanks for the help!

You can check out my myspace sight, I was pretty much going to do the same theme with the set background image. Here (http://www.myspace.com/urobolus). I tried a grey, but it didn't seem to help, maybe I was using to light of one.

Ah. MySpace.

The problem is your choice of background image. It contrasts too much -- no matter what colour you use, it just won't show up when the image is underneath it. You have two options: apply a white wash to your image, so it's a pale grey on white, or apply a background to your content boxes. This doesn't have to be opaque; you could, for example, use a translucent white PNG as your background (with the appropriate filters to make it work with IE), or apply a dark colour and make your text light.

Didn't think of that, I think I'll just fade the background image. I'd like to just have a simple minimalist design, so if I faded it I'd get to have just black and white back, but still have the presence of the symbol in the middle.

Thanks for all the help!
