View Full Version : Query on "Cross Browser marquee II"

1) Script Title: Cross Browser marquee II

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/cmarquee2.htm

3) Describe problem:
a) The minimum scroll speed of "1" is still too fast. May I know how I can further reduce the scroll speed?

b) I would like the "contents that is scrolling upward to begin with "the first line followed by the second line". That is, at the beginning, only the first line is visible =>start to scroll from the bottom of the space.

I think that:

would be a better fit for you. It is a better script (more up to date and x browser). It already does 'b', as you can configure the lines any way you see fit. It's pausing ability should also solve 'a'.

Thanks, John, I tried using the script you suggested but it didn't work becuase my scrolling content is just one long passage.

Initially I use the marquee script as appended below but the scrolling content could not be stop :
<marquee style="FLOAT: none; MARGIN-LEFT: auto; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto" scrollamount="2" direction="up" width="250" height="330" border="0" scrolldelay="99">scrolling content</marquee>

Then I found this webpage "http://code.helpor.net/page.php" and tried using the script but failed to modify the script so that it appear on the right spot of my webpage and also because my passage for the scrolling content is long.

Finally I found the "Cross Browser marquee ll" . I wonder if there is anyway to modify the script to allow for "slower scrolling speed" and the way "scrolling content" appear at the beginning similar to the one found on "http://code.helpor.net/page.php"

Using the script I recommend, you can break up the content however you deem appropriate. It's just a different way of looking at it.

Think creatively, I'm sure that it could be adapted. The DD script that you seem fixated on is out of date and will not work in very many browsers.

You might also want to look here:

That one can start blank (I think that is what you are shooting for) and has a number of advantages over the DD version it is adapted from. It may still be too fast for you but, that should be able to be worked out. However, the example scroller ("http://code.helpor.net/page.php") you mention is at about the same speed.
