Okay, I figured out a way for it too work in other browsers, but in the previous version, you could change the background color, and the fade would be from that color. (I used a filter, which only worked for IE), and in the new one I've made (haven't posted yet) it only works for silver.

That fade effect is peculiar -- I'm not sure if I like it or not. It flickers to black then fades to silver, yes?
