RSS Ticker - Increase outputs?

I have installed the Advanced RSS Ticker

It works great but I just wondered if the outputs can be increased from Title, pubdate, description and link?

I have been playing about with the code in Scrollerbridge and last RSS and added "comments" and "author", but these are not replicated in the ticker window.

I have ensured that the xml data is available e.g. for comments and author

The reason I want to increase this is that my RSS feed comes from a Db that has lots of columns with minimal info, and the info needs to be displayed list type rather than "long hand"

Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

Were you successful in modifying LastRSS.php to return the contents of these extra tags? You'll also need to edit function outputRSS_XML($url) inside bridge.php to return that data, and check that it's working by calling:

http://www.mysite.com/lastrss/bridge.php?id=CNN

for example.

Once you've confirmed that bridge.php now outputs all the elements of the feed you wish in XML format, the last step is to modify rssticker.js to display that extra data. I can follow up on this thread and tell you what needs to be editted in rssticker.js, though you'll need to first make the appropriate changes to the two other files first yourself and post a link to http://www.mysite.com/lastrss/bridge.php?id=CNN on your site to confirm that things are working up to that point. I can then look at rssticker.js for you and tell you what needs to be modified there.

Hi and thanks for the reply

As far as I am aware, I have modified Last and Bridge all ok, however when I click the link in your reply, i get a 404 page not found error? Could be that I am no longer calling the cnn page in my script which i removed?

In modifiying Bridge, I have added comments and author to the outputRSS_JS section in the same format as the exisiting code - this does not produce any errors, so I think this has been doen correctly.

I have modifed last.js in as much as adding author and comments within the "private Variables" section (this is guess work!)

I have had a look in the ticker.js file and can see a section which quite obviously is to do with displaying the variopus elements of the RSS feed......... i havent a clue where to start!

Is there awy round this e.g. the fact that I can not seem to acccess the link and hence post a link to my site etc?

On a positive note - it's good to see that it will be possible to show more data and this will be excellent for my needs
