Logout Code

Does any one know if there is a standard code for logging out-nothing elaborate,The host I use provides "protect directories" but i don't want the user to be able to use the back arrow and return to the previous page. Thanks for you guy's help-its not easy being green!

How to log out depends entirely on how the user has been logged in. :)
