Google Search in Chrome Drop Down Navigation Menu

Hi Folks:

Here's the script I am referencing:

Chrome CSS Drop Down Menu

I have implemented this nicely in my blog here:

But what I'd like to do is put the google search box in the menu bar, much like this person has done here:

http://www.typepadhacks.org/

Unfortunately, the directions that person provides are not working for me and I was wondering if anybody else has tried doing this successfully?
